Marianne & Robin Gaunt have lived at Carlshead Farms for more than 30 years and are experienced stock breeders.In these years, our farm structure has changed and evolved: our elder son Gareth joined the enterprise and brought with him successful new ideas. Some of our grassland became available, so we decided that this was the ideal moment to start an alpaca business.

Three females came in the autumn of 2009 and we now own a small herd.

The alpacas live in a circle of paddocks around our house, thus we keep in close contact with their needs and wants and enjoy seeing them all the time.

We greatly value the fantastic fleeces our alpacas produce, we aim high to attain the ultimate fleece quality. Our interest in genetics not only exercises the brain cells, it makes breeding alpacas fascinating.
