Catering                                                                           

The course includes health and safety and basic food hygiene in the kitchen. Students are given a thorough introduction to cooking techniques and working in the catering industry.

Art and Imaging Software                                       

This course gives students a good grounding in mark-making techniques and introduces them to the basics of desktop publishing, web design, photographic and imaging software.

Mountain Biking                                          

The course includes bike mechanics/maintenance, trail building/design, trail riding, map reading/orienteering, understanding a bike business.

This course prepares the learner for all aspects of stable and grass management of horses. There is a strong emphasis on understanding the psychology of horse training, plus the chance to learn horse riding at the local riding school.

Horticulture

The course gives a thorough introduction to basic garden horticulture skills, a grounding in organic horticulture, and a taste of running a small enterprise.

Bushcraft

We have developed existing NOCN PSD units into an exciting new Bushcraft Skills course. Students will learn fire lighting, shelter building, camp cooking, finding safe water and basic craft skills whilst developing their teamwork skills, self confidence and leadership skills.

Farm Animal Care

This course introduces students to the care of sheep, pigs, cattle, poultry, and alpacas. We aim to cover all aspects of the business in an apprenticeship style of learning to give a good grounding for Agricultural College.

Tractor Mechanics and Driving

We run a comprehensive course covering basic tractor mechanics and servicing, heath and safety, and basic driving skills. This course prepares students for further education training in Agricultural Engineering or Diesel Mechanics.

This course gives students a basic introduction to coarse fishing skills, understanding the pond and freshwater environments, water management.
