Carlshead Farms have been running a flock of Lleyn sheep since 1995. They are ideally suited to our land which has trace element problems due to excess iron. They are prolific, usually averaging 2 lambs a ewe, do not require large amounts of feed and have a good, consistent carcase quality. The ewes are of medium size which assists handling and they are excellent mothers.  Lambs finish at 18-22kg. Though the lambs’ growth rates are slower than some breeds, they require less intensive feeding.
